Lessons learned: laying tiles is hard when they are paired with others of different thicknesses. Wobble tested and it’s pretty good though!

If you haven’t been drooling over @emilyjaneofficial.ca upcoming Dream Retreat to Italy, you should be. To top off the incredible experience she has planned for the lucky ladies joining her adventure, they’ll be having a masquerade dinner at their stunning villa.

Each of these masks has been custom designed around the beautiful gown they’ll each be wearing. One is even for a very special little girl who I hope is over the moon excited.

Every adventure needs a little mystery. I can’t wait to hear about the stories these masks collect.

Being a May baby and because they are absolutely precious and 100% give fairies are among us vibes, I’ve always been smitten with Lily of the Valley. I recently learned that they are an invasive weed and I say, bring them on! Also isn’t the different between invasive weed and wildflower that one is pretty? Anyway….

This was my test and I’ll 100% be making more of these to have available at Studio Fair this fall.

I have a big big project in my head and soul that I’m going to be working on for the next long time. Part of that requires me shaking myself up out of my normal perspectives on thinking about and creating out.

This weekend I challenged myself to a lovely drawing workshop with the so so talented @catsivertsen and sat in the woods, drew with sticks, and met new creatives.

I’ll be losing myself in the woods more! ♥️ 🌲 ♥️

It might still be super chilly outside, but my space heater and wool vest is on, candle is going, and these stunners from @tokenfloral are prettying up my windowsill. Oh, and the chill didn’t stop me from planting some pansies in the garden last night. They’re still kicking today, so fingers crossed 🤞

I don’t know about you, but between the weather, the world and life I’ve been feeling down in the dumps. Then just like that my home is filled with flowers and the days are that must easier. Lighting candles, a little spritz of my favourite perfume and spending time with lovely people make the season just that much better.

Some projects happen quietly behind the scenes so we just jump out from behind a door and yell “surprise!!!” Last night I had the chance to do just that with a lovely group of women going on a trip of a lifetime with @emilyjaneofficial.ca to Italy. The capstone event of their trip will be a masquerade dinner, and I’ve been creating bespoke masks and headpieces for what will be a truly memorable evening.

Took what’s been a rare day off from day job work and commissions for others to make a little forget-me-not tunnel book of that time I stayed on Bowen Island and woke up to this beauty snacking on berries right outside my B&B door.

These have been on my “must make” list for some time and a friend finally got me making them this week. They are now a before bed unwind obsession. One day I’ll make these from fabrics of my own design, for now, these are sure pretty.

When I was about 5, I distinctly remember picking the tiniest and tastiest little wild strawberries in the ditch across the street with my neighbour bestie. We’d collect them in yogurt containers and take them back to the kitchen to make “jam” which was made of maybe a solid ratio of 5 berries to 1 cup of sugar. We’d mash and smash and spread it on crackers for the best jam ever.

This totes adorbs moment is one not to forget, so has been immortalized on this ceramic platter. It is a completely one-of-a-kind piece, carefully hand-built with clay slab and decorated with care. It’s named in honour of those silly conversations as an adult where your mouth does you a disservice and simple words come out all garbled. A verbal typo.
