ABOUT
Hi! I'm Kim
Welcome to my Studio!
Kim Hayhurst is a Northern British Columbia artist whose work celebrates the quiet magic woven into everyday life. Drawing inspiration from micro moments — the warmth of a shared cup of tea, the curve of a leaf, a well-loved mended sleeve — Kim invites us to slow down and rediscover the beauty and tenderness that surround us.
Her practice explores the gentle intersection of art and craft, encouraging others to see creativity as a welcoming, accessible space rather than a distant ideal. Whether through delicate drawings, whimsical paintings, or hand-built ceramics, her pieces feel like small invitations: to notice, to wonder, to mend, and to remember.
Throughout her artistic journey, Kim has embraced different mediums and forms, shifting gracefully with the seasons of her life. From fine art to functional craft and back again, each chapter reflects an openness to growth and a deep appreciation for the imperfect, the handmade, and the storied.
Her current work acts as a kind of visual journal: a new album of memory and imagination, stitched together with curiosity and care. Rather than dwelling on loss, her art tends to the gentle art of mending — shaping new narratives that celebrate resilience, kindness, and the small joys that make a life.
Kim lives and creates in Prince George with her husband and daughter, on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh Nation. She works primarily in drawing (graphite, coloured pencils, ink, digital), painting (acrylic, gouache), and ceramics.
